The Learning Lab is a full-day, immersive midwifery experience designed to build confidence through context. This pre-conference workshop takes participants through the full arc of care—from the first prenatal visit to labor support, emergency response, postpartum care, and the fourth trimester. Expect didactic learning, hands-on skill practice, small-group rotations, real-time scenarios, and documentation woven throughout. You’ll practice clinical skills and strengthen communication, clinical reasoning, and your ability to respond clearly and calmly in a variety of situations.
Skill Stations & Scenario-Based Learning Include:
Intake and history-taking
Prenatal assessment (fundal height, Leopold’s maneuvers, fetal heart tones)
Standard of care timeline (labs, imaging, testing, and shared decision-making)
Poke Practice: IV starts, phlebotomy, and IM injections
Cervical exams
Shoulder dystocia response
Postpartum hemorrhage management
Pharmacology and medication decision-making
Newborn assessment and documentation
Experience a full-day, in-person learning with rotating skill stations, simulation, and guided case-based application.
Includes: Instruction, skill practice, printed materials, automatic raffle entry, and NARM PEP skill sign-offs.
